Mary Walker is a painter and printmaker. Born in New York and raised in Tryon, NC. Since 1981, she has lived and worked on Johns Island near Charleston SC.
Walker has exhibited her work nationally and internationally. She has won numerous regional grants and residencies, including two at the Scuola Internacional de grafica a Venezia, a Margo Gelb Dune shack on Cape Cod, and a Visiting Artist at the Bascom in Highlands, NC. Her work is represented in the Springfield Art Museum, Lamar Dodd Collection, Addlestone Library, Dock Street Theater, and the Sol LeWitt Collection. She has been published in 100 Southern Artists and Carrier Pigeon. In 2012, Walker was one of five artists chosen for New York Print Club’s showcase. She has been the curator for several art shows. Walker has taken dance regularly for years. In recent years, Walker has worked with dancers in order to incorporate dance into art exhibitions.Walker is represented by the Corrigan Gallery in Charleston, SC and the Julie Heller Gallery in Provincetown, MA
